Terms of use
The agreement between you and us when you use AusRedact, in plain English.
Last updated 4 October 2026
In short
- AusRedact suggests what to black out. You decide, and you check every page before you download.
- You only upload documents you are allowed to handle.
- Prices include GST. The pay as you go minimum is per order. If a document fails, its pages go back to your page balance. If every document in a card payment fails, we refund the card payment automatically.
- Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
About these terms
AusRedact is provided by Touring Golf Pty Ltd, trading as Bloody Good Software (ABN 79 695 344 211). In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Touring Golf Pty Ltd. "You" means the person using AusRedact, and the organisation you act for if you use it for work.
These terms apply when you use the AusRedact app at app.ausredact.com.au. Please read them before you upload a document, pay or sign in. If you do not agree to them, please do not use AusRedact. Our Privacy policy, Acceptable use policy and Refund policy form part of these terms.
If you use AusRedact for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
What AusRedact does
AusRedact helps you black out personal details in a document and download a copy with those details permanently removed. It works like this:
- You upload a PDF, Word (.docx), JPG or PNG file of up to 300 pages and 40 MB. We convert a Word document to PDF before we check it, and you download a redacted PDF. The converted layout can differ from Word, which is one reason you review every page.
- We check the first 10 pages free and show you what we found and the price for the whole document.
- If you pay, we check every page, using patterns for Australian identifiers and, unless you switch it off, an AI check for names, addresses, signatures and faces.
- You review every page, change what is blacked out, and confirm you have reviewed every page.
- We rebuild each page as an image with your boxes burnt in, check the result, and let you download it.
AusRedact is a software tool. It does not give legal advice and does not tell you what the law requires you to remove from a particular document.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or over to use AusRedact. You must follow our Acceptable use policy, which explains what you may not upload or do.
Your documents
Your documents stay yours. You give us permission to store, read, copy and change them only so we can provide AusRedact to you. We do not use them for anything else, and we do not use them to train AI.
You confirm that you are allowed to upload each document, including the personal information of other people in it, and that processing it in AusRedact does not breach any law, duty of confidence or agreement that applies to you.
We delete your original, the redacted copy and everything made from them within 24 hours of upload, or as soon as you press Delete now. We do not keep backups of documents. Download your redacted copy before then, and keep your own copy of the original. After deletion we cannot recover anything.
Your duty to review
AusRedact finds a lot, but no software finds everything. Scans can be faint, handwriting can be hard to read, and a detail that matters in your document may not look like anything we search for. Every finding is a suggestion until you accept it.
So before you download, you must:
- look at every page of the document
- check that everything you need removed is covered, and add boxes for anything we missed
- check that nothing you need to keep is covered
- confirm that you have reviewed every page
You are responsible for choosing what to remove and for checking the file before you share it. We are responsible for burning out every box you approved. If you switch the AI check off, or the screen tells you it was skipped or failed, you need to look for names, addresses, signatures and faces yourself.
Check your downloaded file before you send it to anyone. If something is wrong, do not send it. Email us and we will help.
Prices and payment
Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Pay as you go costs 15c a page, with a $1.50 minimum per order. A single upload is an order of one. Current prices are on our Pricing page.
$1.50 is 10 pages. If you pay by card for fewer than 10 pages, you pay $1.50 and the unused pages are added to your page balance. You use them by signing in with the email you paid with. They expire 12 months after you pay, like pack pages.
We work out the price from the page count we measure, and show it before you pay. You pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe, or with pages from a pack. We email you a tax invoice. On your card statement the charge shows as BGSOFTWARE* AUSREDACT.
If we change our prices, the change does not affect a document you have already paid for or pages you have already bought.
Page packs
- Pack pages last 12 months from the day you buy them. Pages you have not used by then expire and are not refunded, unless the law gives you a right to a refund.
- Each page in a document uses one page from your pack, even if only some pages need redacting. The pay as you go minimum does not apply to pack pages or to any pages you spend from your balance.
- If pages go back to your pack after a refund and the pack has already expired, you have 30 days to use them.
- Pack pages belong to the account that bought them. They cannot be moved to another account, and they cannot be exchanged for cash except as these terms or the law allow.
- You sign in to your account with a link we email you. Keep access to that email address safe, because anyone who can read it can sign in.
- If we stop offering AusRedact, we will refund the unexpired unused pages in your pack, pro rata to what you paid.
Refunds
If a document fails after you pay, or its redacted file fails our final check, its pages go back to your page balance. This is the same for card and pack payments.
If every document in a card payment fails, we refund the whole card payment automatically and remove any leftover pages from it that you have not used. You can instead email us to ask for a card refund for a failed document. If a payment reaches us that we cannot use for your document, we refund you in full automatically. For anything else, email us. Our Refund policy has the detail.
Your consumer rights
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that we provide them with due care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees or any other right you have under the law that cannot be excluded.
Our responsibility to you
If you buy AusRedact for business use, and the service is not of a kind ordinarily bought for personal, domestic or household use, then to the extent the law allows, our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
Otherwise we are responsible for loss we cause in the usual way under Australian law. In working out any loss, a court may take into account your duty to review each page before you download and before you share the file.
Changes to the service
We keep improving AusRedact, so features may change. If a change significantly reduces what your unused pack pages can do, you can close your account and we will refund those pages pro rata. We aim to keep it available at all times but cannot promise it will never be unavailable, for example during maintenance or if a provider we rely on has an outage.
If we decide to stop offering AusRedact, we will email everyone with unused pack pages at least 30 days before, and refund those pages as set out above.
Suspending or ending use
You can stop using AusRedact at any time. To close your account, press Close account on your account page, or email us from the address you sign in with. If you close it yourself, any document you paid for with pack pages must have finished first. Finish it or delete it, then close your account.
We may stop a job, refuse service, or suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe it seriously breaches these terms or our Acceptable use policy, or if the law requires it. If a breach can be fixed, we will first tell you and give you a fair chance to fix it, unless that would be unsafe or unlawful. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why we acted.
If we stop a job you have paid for, we refund it. If your account is closed for any reason, by you or by us, we refund your unexpired unused pack pages pro rata, once any document you have open has finished. The only exception is where the law stops us from making the refund.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. The version of these terms is 2026-10-04. When you pay, we record the version you accepted. A change does not apply to a document you have already paid for. If you have an account, we will email you about any change that affects you at least 30 days before it starts. If a change is needed sooner to meet the law or keep the service secure, we will tell you as soon as we can. A change will not reduce the pages in your pack or shorten how long they last. If a change is to your detriment, you can close your account and we will refund your unexpired unused pack pages pro rata.
Disputes and governing law
If something goes wrong, email us first at support@ausredact.com.au, call 0405 788 848 or write to us at 36-50 Taylor St, Annandale NSW 2038. Most problems can be fixed quickly.
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, and the courts of New South Wales can hear any dispute. You can also use any other Australian court that has jurisdiction. This does not stop you from contacting a consumer protection agency, such as NSW Fair Trading, or from using any other right you have under the law.
